Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has announced job openings for various positions including Assistant Engineer, Assistant Administrative Officer, Assistant Fire Officer, and Accountant. Qualifications and Experience Required

The educational qualifications and experience required for each position are as follows:

• Assistant Engineer (Maintenance)

  • A 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized State Board of Technical Education, with at least 7 years of experience in Machinery/Crane maintenance, preferably in a Shipyard, Dockyard, Engineering Company, or Government establishment. At least 2 years should be in a supervisory role.
  • Alternatively, candidates with an ITI (NTC) Certificate and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in Mechanic Motor Vehicle/Fitter, along with 22 years of relevant experience, may also apply.

• Assistant Fire Officer

  • A pass in SSLC along with a Sub-Officer’s Course from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, or an equivalent examination.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in firefighting and related operations, preferably in a Shipyard.

• Accountant

  • A graduate with an M.Com degree and 7 years of experience in Finance/Accounting in a Government or Public/Private Sector Undertaking, or
  • A graduate with a CA/CMA Intermediate qualification and 5 years of experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • For both qualifications, at least 2 years should be in a supervisory capacity, with experience in a computerized environment being an added advantage.

• General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 700 (plus bank charges), to be paid online.
• SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: Exempt from the application fee.

Salary Details

• Selected candidates will receive a salary in the range of Rs. 28,000 – 1,10,000, with increments at the rate of 3%.

The selection process consists of two phases:

1. Phase I – Online Test

   • Objective Type: 40 marks
   • Descriptive Type: 40 marks

2. Phase II – PowerPoint Presentation

   • Presentation on work experience: 20 marks
