• Educational Requirements:

  • A strong academic background with a PhD is mandatory.
  • First-class grades in both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degrees are essential.

• Experience Requirements:

  • Assistant Professor Grade-I: Minimum 3 years of teaching, research, or industrial experience post-PhD.
  • Assistant Professor Grade-II: No prior experience requirement is specified.
  • Associate Professor: At least 6 years of relevant experience after obtaining a PhD, with 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor in Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) or equivalent.
  • Professor: A minimum of 10 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry, with at least 4 years as an Associate Professor at institutions like IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, IISERs, or in R&D labs or industry settings.

Age Limit and Relaxations

The age limits for various posts are as follows:

• Assistant Professor Grade-I & II: Preferably below 35 years.
• Associate Professor: Preferably below 45 years.
• Professor: Preferably below 55 years.

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST candidates: 5 years.
• OBC-NCL candidates: 3 years.
• Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC-NCL, and 10 years for General category.

• Assistant Professor Grade-I: Starting salary of ₹1,01,500 (Level 12). After three years of satisfactory service, promotion to Level 13A1 is possible.
• Assistant Professor Grade-II: Fresh candidates with no post-PhD experience start at ₹98,200 (Level 10).
• Associate Professor: ₹1,39,600 (Level 13A2).
• Professor: ₹1,59,100 (Level 14A).
