Eligibility Criteria

  1. Nationality:

    • Citizen of India, or
    • Subject of Nepal, or
    • Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specific countries with intent of permanent settlement in India (certification required).
  2. Age Limit:

    • 21 to 27 years (Born between 02 July 1998 and 01 July 2004).
  3. Educational Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 55% in LLB (3-year professional course or 5-year integrated course).
    • Must have a valid CLAT PG 2024 score.
    • Eligible for Bar Council registration.

Service Terms

  • Tenure: Initially 10 years, extendable up to 14 years based on eligibility. Permanent Commission is possible after 10 years, subject to selection.
  • Training: 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.

Training and Cost

  1. Duration: 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai.
  2. Expenses: Government-funded training. Withdrawal costs ₹17,561 per week (subject to policy).
  3. Diploma: Graduates receive a “Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies” from the University of Madras.
